Daniel Johnson

In addition to being President of Bozeman High’s Rotary Interact,  Daniel is also a student leader in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), a trumpet player in symphonic band, and a guitar player in jazz band. In the past he’s been involved in drama, student government, and robotics.

Daniel is currently involved in cross country and will run track in the spring. In the past he’s been a part of soccer and basketball. Daniel is heavily involved in his church community, Grace Bible Church, and also a member of the Young America’s Foundation. In the past, he participated in dog agility and archery with 4H.

Daniel has been an active member of BHS Interact. He joined as a member and served as Secretary, and now President. He helped initiate, organize, and carry out a variety of fundraisers and community service events, including the Candy gram fundraiser and a collaborative school clean-up along with other clubs. Outside of Rotary, he has  participated in community service as a volunteer with Eagle Mount, 4H, his church, and FCA. 

Daniel has worked hard to maintain academic excellence throughout high school, taking a variety of AP classes and maintaining a GPA of 3.98. His favorite class so far has  been AP US history/English combo,  “because of the extensive open debate and discussion we had on issues that matter in that class. This included argumentative writing and verbal debate, as well as writing research papers. This class helped me become a better ambassador for my convictions.”

Daniel’s faith is of utmost importance to him. He is most proud of his involvement in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Daniel organized and led a boys Bible study and coordinated full club meetings and discussions.  According to Daniel, “this not only caused me to grow my knowledge of my faith, it has also helped me grow my organizational skills, initiative, and public speaking confidence. Through these opportunities, I have grown in my ability to  promote my faith in the public sphere in ways that are relevant to the eternal questions of life and initiate conversations that matter.”

Daniel has not yet decided on his path after BHS, but is pointing towards a liberal arts undergraduate degree and possibly graduate school.
