Sawyer enjoys classes at BHS that include “anything social studies/geography/art based.” AP World History has been her favorite class. Also, having two class periods with the same people and teachers makes it really feel like a community.” In addition to AP classes, Sawyer has enrolled in several dual enrollment classes through MSU such as Spanish 4, the Freshman Research Symposium, and Anatomy and Physiology. Maintaining an unweighted 4.0 GPA and all of her community service has also allowed her to letter academically for several years and receive gold cards.
Sawyer is described by others as hard-working and positive. According to Sawyer, “ I tend to put my head down and do the work; it's what you have to do when your schedule is so full…. It's really easy to get swept up in stress and repetition but I try to look at situations positively. Sometimes all you can do is smile, put on some good music, and get back to work.”
