Madison Tobin
Madison is described by others as kind, hard-working, motivated, and passionate.
Madison has been actively involved in Key Club and served as president for the past three years. She is also on the leadership team of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was inducted into the National Honors Society, as well as the Spanish National Honors Society. Madison plays the saxophone for the BHS marching band, serves as the saxophone section leader, and shines her musical talent in the Pep band, Wind Ensemble (band), and Jazz band. Madison plays softball at BHS and also for the traveling team, the Bozeman Stealers.
Madison is part of her church's youth groups and volunteers for different organizations such as Love Inc. She also volunteered for the Bozeman Friends of Music numerous times to help run instrument swaps and performances.
Some of Madison’s other academic achievements include the Academic Excellence Award for Softball for three years in a row, achieving the Gold Seal of Biliteracy, and a Gold Card for each semester. Her favorite class is history. She loves to learn about the past and realize how it can affect the future. Madison states, “ I love going to different historical monuments, watching documentaries, and talking as much as people will listen about facts I have learned, especially regarding World War I and II. I believe that by learning different sides of history, we can become a more well rounded person who can understand different concepts that can help the future.”
Madison is most proud of her family. She says, “they have supported me through my entire life and made me who I am today.” Her family experienced a tragic loss this summer when her niece, Ellie, passed away from Leukemia. “My sweet Ellie helped me realize that even in the darkest times of our life, there can still be a light for us. The light that I found in the hospital with her on her last few days were the nurses who kept her happy given the circumstances, and my family, especially my older sister, who never lost faith in God and now continues to try to help others. My beautiful Ellie taught me that the only thing that matters in this world is your kindness, and I plan to share this with others, especially as the nurses for Ellie did in her last days.”
This experience influenced Madison’s future plans. Ultimately, she wants to become a surgical nurse in an emergency operating room as, “ I believe this is where I will be able to help people in the greatest need and know that I can try to bring light to those who may be in the darkness.”
