If you ever shop at the Bozeman Co-op, you might run into Julia Funderburk while she’s working there!

 

At BHS, Julia serves as the Senior class Vice President for the Student Council.  She is active in the Art Club and the NICA Mountain Biking team.  In addition, Julia has been part of the track, cross country and volleyball teams in the past.

 

Julia maintains a 4.0 GPA while taking challenging courses including, AP World History, AP US History, AP Stats, and AP Government. She has been in the Biomedical program all four years of high school and completed an independent study in jewelry. Julia says one of her favorite classes was Biomed 4,  "because we got to do a lot of cool projects that compile our knowledge from past years like designing an Emergency Department and dissecting a fetal pig.”

 

Julia is most proud of being a team captain for the NICA Mountain biking team. The  team is unique in having 6-12 graders who practice together. Julia mentors and supports the younger kids on the team. She served as a team captain in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

As part of her senior project for English 4, Julia hosted a blood drive with the American Red Cross.  The drive was successful and exceeded the donation goals. 
 
After high school, Julia hopes  to study nursing/ pre-med in college. She aspires to get an EMT license while also pursuing her artistic interests in painting, jewelry and ceramics. She hopes to work in emergency medical response or as a flight nurse.
