Avery Westphal

Avery is a ball girl. She played baseball for 11 years and then switched to softball. She is going on her 3rd year of being the team captain of the Bozeman High softball team.
Avery works with younger girls in the softball community to help them improve their skills and understand what playing at the high school level looks like.
Avery carries a 4.18 GPA and will have completed 12 AP classes upon graduation. Her favorite class is BioMed because, “ it brings out the real me. It channels my inner call to help people and to take care of them. I love it because everything I learn is fascinating and takes a deep dive into everything that it takes to be a healthcare professional.” Avery is involved in BHS’ HOSA club ( a club for future healthcare professionals). She holds an outreach position securing volunteer opportunities in the community and real-world career shadow opportunities for members of the club.
Avery is described as kind, caring, and overall empathetic. She is outgoing, bubbly, and a light in the room. She says she is, “most proud of my personality. I am the kind of person and friend that will be there for someone for anything: their darkest times and anything they need, I am there. I am proud that even when people are not kind or nice to me, I still am to them. I love helping people and caring for people because I am a very deeply emotional person.”
Avery plans to work in healthcare and help people. She wants to help as many people as she can.
