January 2025: First Stage of the Project Completed
 
The Tripureswor Rotary Club of Nepal and the Bozeman Sunrise Rotary Club joined forces to help address challenges in six public schools in Nepal, including high dropout rates, low attendance by girls, limited support for teacher education, and lack of technology.  Three years ago, the two Rotary clubs developed a multi-year program and secured funding to address these concerns. A group of Bozeman Rotarians visits these schools in November, 2024.
 
At each school Rotarians were greeted with warm smiles, vertically joined palms accompanied by the Sanskrit greeting namaste  or welcome. The greeter placed a garland of marigolds and a silk prayer shawl around our necks. The group certainly felt special.
 
One of the Rotary schools moved from 13th place (out of 14 district schools) to 6th place as measured by the Nepali Secondary Education Exam. Teacher training and parent engagement were credited for much of the success. The computer labs at each school were a huge hit with the students. The three-year grant expires in March 2025 and Bozeman Rotary is committed to creating another grant with the Tripureswor Rotary.

Nepal Project 2021: Beginning a New Project
Bozeman Sunrise is in the beginning stages of creating a new international service project as an official Rotary Global Grant.  We are seeking contributions and support from other individuals, clubs and Rotary Districts around the world who wish to join us.
 
This service project, to enhance the education system of schools within the area around Tripureswor, Kathmandu, Nepal, will be a partnership with the Tripureswor Nepal and Bozeman Sunrise Rotary Club of Bozeman Montana USA.  If you or your club wish to make a financial contribution toward this effort, here is our mailing address:
