Dr. Austin will present the science and process of composting human remains. She’ll discuss the ways in which terramation differs from traditional (embalmed) burial, green burial, flame cremation practices, and “water cremation.” She'll also talk about the legal status of terramation, which varies by state – where it’s actually being practiced, where it’s legal but no facilities exist yet, and where legislation is pending.

Gallatin County Election Assistance Needed!
The Gallatin County Elections Department still needs to fill about 200 paid and unpaid shifts in order to run the upcoming election at ideal staffing levels. The following positions still need to be filled.
Paid Election Judges: People in these roles actually touch ballots. Because of this they have to fill out some paperwork, may need advance training depending on the role, and must be registered to vote in Gallatin County. Folks interested in being paid election judges should BOTH sign up at this link and email Jasmine (Jasmine.Hall@gallatin.mt.gov) and Lorelei (Lorelei.MichaelOwens@gallatin.mt.gov).
These are the Election Judge role titles and shifts needed:
TABULATOR OPERATOR (16-26 needed)
RESOLUTION BOARD (20-45 needed)
BALLOT PREP NIGHT SHIFT ONLY (26 needed)
BALLOT COP (2-4 needed)
Unpaid Volunteers: The elections office has separated out these roles in order to decrease the amount of paperwork needed and generally create some lower-barrier-to-entry positions. These folks do not touch ballots. Some positions require advance training. Sign up for volunteer positions at this link:
CURBSIDE (12-18 needed)
CALL CENTER (6-8 needed)
LINE MANAGEMENT (6-8 needed)
SUPPLIES (15 needed)

Environmental Action of the Week!
Tip #27
Bike or walk short trips
Fresh air helps.
If 50 people replaced one drive per week, it would cut about 12,000 miles of driving per year.
