**Winter Break**

No meeting until Friday January 5th

Happy New Year to all! As we step into this new year, let's carry forward our enduring spirit of service and commitment to the community. Our collective efforts in the past year have made a significant impact, bringing positive change and hope to many. May this year be filled with more opportunities for service, stronger bonds of fellowship, and countless moments that embody our motto, 'Service Above Self.' Here's to a year of making a difference, one community at a time!

See you Friday January 5th 2024

-Highlight? of 2023-
Rotarians are people of their word and nothing was more true than the aftermath of Cat-Griz 2023. I heard a small, unknown team won this last matchup and might be heading south for a weekend this winter. Whether you are Cat or Griz, it is always a good day to support our teams no matter what side of the hill they live on.

-Queen of Hearts-
Is your New Year's resolution to win the lottery? Well, scratch that one off your list at our meeting on January 5th with Queen of Hearts! Only 2 cards remain and the pot is over $5,000! Arrive early and hop in line for you chance of finally finding the elusive Queen of Hearts and support the amazing crew of Rotaractors! Rumor has it there will be fireworks when the Queen is finally found. Don't worry Chief Waldo, all codes will be followed...

-Join us at the Opera!-
Rotary fellowships are groups that share a common passion. Being a part of a fellowship is a fun way to extend the fun of Rotary outside of our regularly scheduled meetings. Nancy and Bill MacBride have started an Opera fellowship. Join us at the movie theater for the HD showing of Nabucco on Jan 6 and Carmen on Jan 27th. Both are at 10:55AM. If interested in joining, contact Nancy MacBride via phone or email.

-What's a Happenin' with Rotaract?-
HUGE thank you to Rotaract for helping with the holiday auction! We are so grateful to have they as part of our larger Rotary family! Come one, come all! Upcoming Rotaract Events:
Rotaract Board Meeting on Monday, January 8th at 5:30pm at Bank of Bozeman.
Current Rotaract Service Project:
Looking ahead to 2024. We've got growth on the brain! We are dedicated to getting Rotaract back to a vibrant club, and we need your help! How?? Three ways:
  1. Be on the look out for a new Rotaract info board at each Rotary meeting! Pick up a card for a way to help Rotaract.
  2. Send a friend! Do you have employees, co-workers, friends, kids or kids' friends that would be interested? Make sure you know when the next awesome Rotaract event is and send a friend! Hint: Rotaract Meet & Greet event on February 15th - the season of love is for Rotaract too!
  3. Hang a poster. Each Friday, we'll have a stack of posters of relevant Rotaract events - please hang one at your place of business, or keep a couple in your car for when you see a community board.
Let's give a huge shout out to our Rotaract Board! They are working tirelessly each week to grow Rotaract. And when Rotaract thrives, so does Bozeman Sunrise Rotary!

Now for some Rotary Trivia:
  • Answer from Last Week:
  • In 2022, the Rotary Club of Hamburg in western New York donated over 100,000 pounds of fresh vegetables to 23 distribution sites. This all started when Rotarian Earl Knauss was gifted three bushels of red peppers from his neighbor’s farm because they were misshapen and blemished so his neighbors could not sell them. That is when Earl learned about food waste and started the Farm to Family project with his Rotary club and has expanded to three farms and set up partnerships with local food pantries that would not have fresh vegetables otherwise. All it takes is one person to lead an impact on so many.

  • What are the primary colors associated with Rotary International and what is their significance?

  • Answer: _____ (find out next week + a lil related tidbit)
