Latest developments in forensic evidence including DNA

Captain McNeil is an 18 year veteran with the Bozeman Police Department. He graduated MSU in 1997 and worked in computers for several years before joining the PD as a calling to devote a portion of his life to community service. During his time in the Bozeman Police Department, Captain McMeil served for several years as a member of our Special Response (SWAT) team and as a police detective. As a detective, he specialized in violent crimes against women and children, and was a regional Internat Crimes Against Children task force member. Captain McNeil developed the state's first local computer forensics laboratory while assisting other police departments with computer forensic exams of computer systems and cell phones. He was later promoted to patrol sergeant and then to patrol captain where he served for about 3 years. He was assigned to head the detective division in the fall of 2021. He oversees the handling of many felony crimes including sexual assaults, drug crimes, property crimes and homicides.
