Bozeman Health

Dave Chen, MD, serves as Chief Medical Officer at Bozeman Health and, together Gordon Davidson, CFO, is currently acting dyad President and CEO for the health system.  He also serves as an ex-officio member of the Bozeman Health Foundation’s board of directors. He is an Internist by training and has worked in private practice, academic medicine, and spent 15 years as a Hospitalist.  Prior to joining the Bozeman Health team a year ago, during his 12 years at MultiCare in Tacoma, WA, he was the system Hospitalist Medical Director.  Dave built the program from 12 to 50 physicians over 3 hospitals.  During that time he transitioned into full time medical administration as the Physician Executive of MultiCare’s busy facility, the 285-bed Good Samaritan Hospital.  He was active in participating with both system and individual hospital Foundation work.  Projects that Dr. Chen was involved with included fund raising for the Treehouse, an onsite residence for patient families, expansion of the MultiCare Research Department, and the annual fund drive for the Children’s Therapy Unit.  The highlight of Dave’s Foundation work was helping on the project to build Milgard Tower housing the new 30,000 square foot Emergency Department and Cancer Center -- a $250 million dollar endeavor.
